The only true YMC-130H was 74-1686 which received this designation in July of 1981. The aircraft had the installation of 30 externally mounted rockets. Eight forward-pointed ASROC rockets to help stop the C-130 in a very short space. Another eight downward-pointed rockets sourced from Shrike missiles. These were mounted on the fuselage above the main wheel wells to slow its descent. Eight rearward-pointed MK-56 missile rockets mounted
